Create rules using the context rules framework to change which products, promotions, and prices appear to customers. You can also impose penalties for cancelled promotions or contracts. You can also set rules to allow pricing adjustments only under certain conditions. Context rules work in tandem with the Vlocity advanced rules framework to ensure that all orders are correctly configured and priced.
Context Rules Framework Components

In the Vlocity Product Console, you can create and manage context rules. Create context rules using reusable components. Context rules can be combined to form rule sets, which can then be applied to products, promotions, price lists, and price list entries. They are also applicable to virtual objects.
Context rules can be divided into two categories: Qualification and Penalty. In Industries Cart, these rule types are used in various ways.
Qualification rules : Customer eligibility for products, promotions, price lists, price list entries, and run-time price adjustments is determined by qualification rules. You can apply the same qualification context rule to a product, a promotion, a price list or a price list entry because context rules are reusable.
Penalty rules : When a customer cancels a promotion, removes or disconnects a contract-related asset, or cancels a contract during its commitment period, penalty rules determine whether a penalty is applicable and how much of a penalty is assessed. Only asset-based or MACD orders are subject to penalty rules.

Context rules with a qualification rule type can be used to control which products appear in the Qualified or Disqualified tabs of the product list in Industries Cart. Based on the defined rule conditions, the qualification rule determines whether the account is eligible to add the product to the cart.
For example, you may want to offer specific products to customers who buy through one channel and a different set of products to customers who buy through another.
In our next post, We will discuss more about the Qualification rule, Penalty Rule and Evaluation rule.
Hope this information helps you guys.
